Cover Candy #13 (The One With the Swords)

Cover Candy #13 (The One With the Swords)

Check out these books with swords on the covers! I want to dedicate this collection to my character Sherakai dan Tameko, who has a (possibly alarming) fascination with swords and other implements of destruction.

Cover Candy #11 (All Wet) brings us books with water on the cover. We’ve done fire, so it’s only fair, right? There’s nothing wishy-washy about these beauties, though! www.robinlythgoe.com

Cover Candy #10: (On Fire!) It’s a good thing cover candy isn’t bad for my health, because I consume a lot of covers. With my eyes, that is! I look at covers of every genre, and I am always fascinated by the stories they tell. Do they match what’s inside?

Are you ready for a little Cover Candy? Sometimes cover art is so yummy you just want to eat it up! We’re looking at dragons today. (Edible or not?)

Cover Candy #07: Three (more!) Beautiful Book Covers

Cover Candy #7

It’s time for a little Cover Candy book lovin’! I usually end up spending more time writing than reading—though once I start reading I’m likely to keep right on going and forget to write! I’m taking part in the 2017 Reading Challenge on Goodreads again—that gives me a push, too! This time I’ve taken a shine to covers with birds on them…

Cover Candy #06

Cover Candy #6

There’s nothing like looking at some good Cover Candy to get me inspired to read! I have to be careful, or I’ll end up with even more books in my TBR Pile. The ones I’ve chosen this time are wildly different: gritty, whimsical, and classy. They’re all dark-colored (does that make a theme?). I like them for completely different reasons, but I find each of them intriguing. As usual, I can’t vouch for the contents of the books represented below. We’re only here for the eye candy! Cover Candy #4

The Great Cover-Up is one of my favorite features to do. Great book covers, wonderful typography, amazing design — and when it comes on a book, it’s a win-win situation. I think the first cover I recall really falling in love with was the one Michael Whelan did for To Green Angel Tower by Tad Williams. The picture is incredibly detailed, fantastic, and realistic. I still want a print to frame and hang in my office. Creating covers for my own books has given me a new appreciation for the thought and the work that goes into them. I began […]
